«Imparerò una nuova lingua», «Mi allenerò per la maratona», «Aprirò una mia attività». Con l’arrivo del nuovo anno, tutti ci lanciamo in liste di buoni propositi: chi le scrive su dei post-it colorati e li attacca in camera, chi sul proprio taccuino, i più tecnologici su delle app create ad hoc. Ma quante volte questi si traducono in realtà, e quante altre, invece, rimangono obiettivi irrealizzati che finiscono con il deprimerci?
Ci sono molti motivi per cui scrivere liste di buoni propositi non ha senso: innanzitutto, come leggiamo sul blog Mybeautifulplace.com, i buoni propositi sono dei desideri che vorremmo si avverassero, delle idee di fare qualcosa, non dei progetti concreti: quando compiliamo la lista, spesso non abbiamo un atteggiamento attivo. Dire «oggi lo scrivo ma lo faccio domani» non comporta necessariamente un cambiamento, un’azione. Insomma, spesso i buoni propositi sono fuffa.

Un rischio che si corre nel darsi dei buoni propositi è che questi, semplicemente, non siano i nostri, ma siano influenzati dall’ambiente in cui viviamo: «Spesso siamo spinti a porci obiettivi che gli altri considerano rilevanti, ma che in realtà non lo sono per noi» ha detto a Focus una volta Angelica Moè, docente di Psicologia della motivazione e delle emozioni all’Università di Padova. Cerchiamo di pensare a cosa vogliamo realmente noi.
Se proprio dobbiamo scrivere la fantomatica lista, che sia una lista di obiettivi precisi e soprattutto realizzabili. Se ci prefiggiamo qualcosa di molto vago, o di irragionevole, è molto più facile che non lo faremo. Come scrive la piattaforma di life coaching e marketing Mosca digitale, invece che dire «l’anno prossimo voglio dimagrire», o «perderò dieci chili», dobbiamo pianificare qualcosa di concreto, un’azione che sia realizzabile, come iscriversi a yoga e in piscina, portarsi sempre il pranzo da casa in ufficio ed eliminando il cibo spazzatura, al fine di perdere una taglia entro tre mesi. Obiettivi concreti e raggiungibili, non buoni propositi fumosi e utopistici, quindi, e in ogni caso pochi: prefiggersi cento cose da realizzare in un anno aumenta solo l’ansia. Quindi, per il 2020, meno buoni propositi e più piccole azioni concrete.
